In a small bowl or glass measuring cup stir together;
1 cup of warm water
2 1/2 tsp of yeast
Set aside.
In a large bowl mix;
1/4 cup vegetable or canola oil
1 tsp salt
2 cups of flour
2 tbsp of sugar
Add the yeast mixture to flour and beat until smooth. Stir in 2 more cups of flour to form a soft dough. Let rise in oven with the light on, or in a warm place for 1 hour.
Punch down. Form buns (8 to 12) and make cuts in the top like an X, and let rise again for 20 to 30 minutes.
Bake at 400F for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

They look great!!
Just the recipe I have been needing. Thanks!!
I'm so excited. We have company coming and these will go GREAT with lasagna!
I'm mildly (well completely) intimidated by bread, but this looks easy enough even I could do it.
It is easy. Bread can be tricky but once you learn the basics you can master any bread recipe.
Good luck everyone! Let me know how it goes.
