Home Made Ice Cream

Ingredients:

2 cups of milk
1 cup of sugar
dash of salt
1 cup of half & half
1 1/2 tsp of vanilla
1 cup of whipping cream

Directions:

Scald milk until bubbles form around edge. Remove from heat. Add sugar and salt. Mix. Stir in Half & Half, vanilla and whipping cream. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes (or overnight).

When ready, churn or follow your ice cream makers instructions. Makes 2 quarts.

For strawberry or blueberry flavour add pureed berries before churning, about 1 1/2 cups for 2 quarts.

When using an old fashioned churn add 1 cup of salt to every 5 cups of ice. Churning takes between 30 to 40 minutes.
