I used to make this recipe all the time and recently found it again after cleaning out my cookbook shelf. These granola bars are heavy so cut them into small pieces.
In a medium sized bowl, mix:
1 1/4 cup of quick-cook oats, 1/4 cup of flour, 1/4 cup toasted wheat germ, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of honey, 1/4 cup of water.
Mix until well
You can fold in chocolate chips, nuts, apricots, berries... anything you fancy.
Grease a 8 x 8 square pan, and press dough into pan to fill all spaces and make flat. Bake at 300F for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy!

I've been looking for a no nonsense, no goofy ingredients recipe for granola bars. Thank you!
Tried the recipe and loved it! It's just what I've been looking for.
On my second go round, I substituted mapple syrup for honey and liked it even better. Now the recipe is making the rounds at my girls' school group. It's a BIG hit.
Thank you.
I am so glad you like it! I keep playing around with it and am never disappointed. It seems no matter how I make it, it turns out delish!
